How to Stake SNX & sUSD

The 420 Pool allows users to stake SNX or sUSD on Ethereum Mainnet and earn SNX rewards.
Both assets participate in the same reward pool, but have different lock conditions, requirements, and behaviours. Make sure you understand the differences before staking.

What you need before you start
Make sure you:
- Hold SNX or sUSD on Ethereum Mainnet
- Your wallet is connected to Ethereum Mainnet
- Use a supported wallet
Legacy staking positions may exist on Optimism.
If your assets are on another network (e.g., Optimism), you will need to bridge them to Ethereum Mainnet before staking, unless you need to participate in Debt Jubilee.
Three quick and easy steps to get you started
Step 1: Acquire SNX & sUSD
You can acquire SNX & sUSD through:
- Centralized exchanges
- Decentralized exchanges
- Cross-chain swap providers
Ensure your tokens are on Ethereum Mainnet before proceeding.
Step 2: Visit the 420 Pool App
- Go to https://420.synthetix.io/
- Connect your wallet
- Ensure your wallet is set to Ethereum Mainnet
Ethereum Mainnet is currently the supported network for new staking positions.
If you have a legacy Debt Jubilee position on Optimism, switch networks to manage that position separately.
Step 3: Staking
Stake SNX
Applies to SNX staking only- Select the SNX tab
- Enter the amount of SNX you wish to stake (minimum 30 SNX)
- Click Stake
- Confirm the transaction in your wallet
Once confirmed on-chain, your staking position will be created.
SNX Lock & Rewards- Rewards unlock after the full program period
- You may unstake early, but penalties apply to rewards only
- Your principal SNX is not penalised
Stake sUSD
Applies to sUSD staking only- Select the sUSD tab
- Enter the amount you wish to stake
- Click Stake
- Confirm the transaction in your wallet
Once confirmed on-chain, your staking position will be created.
Understanding Rewards
- A total of 5,000,000 SNX is distributed across the 420 Pool over 12 months
- Both SNX and sUSD stakers share this reward pool

Track Your Position
After staking, your position will display:
- Amount staked
- Accrued or estimated rewards
- Unlock timeline
Note: Reward data may take time to populate after staking.
Unstaking
SNX
- Select Unstake
- Review the confirmation screen (including any reward penalty)
- Confirm the transaction
A 7-day cooldown period applies before withdrawal.
sUSD
- Unstaking is not available before April 19, 2026
