Managing Open Orders
Last updated: Aug 7, 2026
Once you've placed an order, you can manage it directly from the Open Orders tab in the portfolio table. This guide explains the actions available while your order is waiting to be executed.
Viewing Open Orders
The Open Orders tab in the portfolio table provides a real-time overview of your pending orders.
Depending on the order type, you can monitor information such as:
- Market
- Order type
- Direction
- Order quantity
- Order status, including filled quantity
- Order price or trigger price
- Time in Force (TIF)
- Order time
- And more, depending on the selected order type.
The available columns vary depending on whether you are viewing Limit, Trigger, Take Profit / Stop Loss, or TWAP orders.
| Tab | Description |
|---|---|
| Limit | View and manage open Limit Orders. |
| Trigger | View and manage Trigger Orders. |
| TP/SL | View pending Take Profit and Stop Loss orders. |
| TWAP | View active TWAP orders. |
From the Open Orders tab, you can also manage supported order types by editing, chasing, or cancelling orders.
| Order Type | Edit | Chase | Cancel |
|---|---|---|---|
| Limit | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| Trigger | ✓ | — | ✓ |
| Take Profit / Stop Loss | — | — | ✓ |
| TWAP | — | — | ✓ |
Editing an Open Order
Some order types, including Limit and Trigger Orders, can be edited after they have been submitted.
To edit an open order:
- Locate the order you want to edit in the Open Orders tab of the portfolio table.
- Select either the Limit or Trigger tab, depending on the order type.
- Select Edit on the order you want to update.
- Update the order details.
- Select Save.
The updated order remains subject to its original order behaviour, including its selected Time in Force setting where applicable.
Chasing a Limit Order
Chase allows you to update an existing Limit Order to the current best available bid or ask price.
To chase a Limit Order:
- Locate your open Limit Order in the Open Orders tab of the portfolio table.
- Make sure the Limit tab is selected.
- Select Chase on the Limit Order you want to update.
- Review the Chase Limit Order confirmation window.
- Select Confirm.
When confirmed:
- Buy / Long Limit Orders are updated to the current best bid price.
- Sell / Short Limit Orders are updated to the current best ask price.
This can help improve the likelihood of execution while keeping your order as a Limit Order.
Cancelling an Open Order
You can cancel an individual order before it has been executed.
To cancel an open order:
- Locate the order you want to cancel in the Open Orders tab of the portfolio table.
- Select the appropriate tab (Limit, Trigger, TP/SL, or TWAP).
- Select Cancel on the order you want to remove.
Once cancelled, the order is removed from the Open Orders table and is no longer eligible for execution. If the order has any linked child orders, such as Take Profit or Stop Loss, they are also cancelled. Existing positions remain unaffected.
Cancelling All Open Orders
If you have multiple open orders, you can cancel them all at once.
To cancel all open orders:
- Locate your open orders in the Open Orders tab of the portfolio table.
- Select the order type tab (Limit, Trigger, TP/SL, or TWAP) containing the orders you want to cancel.
- Select Cancel All.
Once cancelled, all open orders in the currently selected tab are removed from the Open Orders table and are no longer eligible for execution. If any cancelled orders have linked child orders, such as Take Profit or Stop Loss, they are also cancelled. Existing positions remain unaffected.
Order Status
An order remains in the Open Orders table until one of the following occurs:
- The order is fully executed.
- The order is manually cancelled.
- The order expires, where applicable.
Executed, cancelled and expired orders can be viewed in the Order History tab.
Important Considerations
- Market Orders execute immediately and therefore do not appear in the Open Orders table.
- Cancelling an order does not close an existing position.
- Only supported order types can be edited after submission.
- Trigger Orders, Take Profit, Stop Loss and TWAP Orders remain pending until their execution conditions are met.
- Editing an order may affect when or how it is executed, depending on the order type.
